Yea it’s real! He genuinely is the fastest swimmer from his country. Just the way it goes, he obviously wouldn’t get in the UK or USA team. Even i can swim the 100m in 1.00 lol!

Yes it was real. I was there. I saw it at Sydney in 2000. Trust me, everybody was more excited to watch this race than any other, EVERYBODY cheered for him, everybody stood up and clapped immensely when he finished. Eric ‘The Eel’ Only started swimming in the January. and the first time he ever saw a pool was in Sydney.
This guy is more man than most of you on this comment page.
